The M2 Browning 50 CAL Machine Gun was designed during World War I by John Browning. The M2 has been referred to as Ma Deuce, or the fifty, in reference to its 50 caliber. B.M.G. stands for Browning Machine Gun creating the name .50 BMG. The M2 .50 caliber machine gun is an automatic, belt-fed, recoil-operated, air-cooled, two man machine gun. The M2 50 has had the longest continuous service use for a machine gun in the world. The M2 50 Cal is typically mounted on ground mounts or on vehicles as an anti-personnel and anti-aircraft weapon. The M2 50 is capable of single-shot as well as automatic fire and was used to a very limited degree as a sniper weapon during the Vietnam War and was used extensively as a vehicle weapon and for aircraft armament by the U.S. from 1920 to the present. It is still the first choice heavy machine gun of NATO countries. The M2 50 has been in use longer than any other small arm artillery in U.S. inventory except the M1911 pistol, also designed by John Browning. Our Resin M2 50 Cal is ideal for use as a Military Vehicle 50 Cal MBG Prop, theatrical prop, movie prop, for reenactments, Parades or as a display. The barrel unscrews for easier shipment and storage. No moving parts. The M2 50 Cal was featured in many movies such as Full Metal Jacket, Tomb Raider, The Day the Earth Stood Still, both 1951 & 2008 versions and many other action movies.
